I was treated for chlymidea almost 2 years ago now. I have recently started to feel some discomfort in my right ovary from time to time. It comes and goes. Is it possible to have developed pelvic inflammatory disease by having chlymidea for so long and not noticed any signs until now? Or would the PID been treated when I was treated for chlymidea?

Getting treated for chlamydia as soon as you found out that you had it is what is recommended to prevent any complications like PID. Localized discomfort over your right ovary is not a specific symptom of PID. Some women experience pain during ovulation and can tell which ovary is ovulating because of the pain’s location. However it is not possible to say what this discomfort is from without further assessment by a doctor and I would encourage you to consider having it checked out so that you know for sure. That way any testing that is needed can be done. Sometimes an ultrasound will be ordered to see if there are any abnormalities of the ovary e.g cyst.
