Are your std and HIV tests anonymous, like my name isn’t attached to the file?

Hi

We have two clinics in the Vancouver area.

The provincial STI clinic

The Bute street clinic

Both of these clinics are free and no ID is needed. This means you can make up a name and date of birth if you would like. Just make sure you remember the details so you can get your results and so that you can use the same name for testing at a later date.

We also have the ability to do anonymous HIV testing were your HIV test only has a number and no name attached to it. Have a look at this link for more information on anonymous HIV testing.

If you go to another clinic just give them a call to see if they have the ability to do this as well. Many public health units around the province that do STI testing have the ability to do this. Have a look at our clinic finder if you need to find a clinic in your area.
