Hi, thanks for your questions about HIV transmission. The situation you describe is not the way we see HIV being transmitted. As soon as the fluid containing HIV ( blood/semen/vaginal fluid) is in the air, dries and gets cold, the HIV dies and cannot be transmitted. Blood to blood transmission has to be very direct for example through intravenous drug use or through a blood transfusion or an organ donation which have not properly screened out HIV. If you continue to be worried about the possibility of HIV or Hepatitis through this interaction, then consider having a HIV test done now so you know your own status and at 3 months to cover the window period. At the 3 month window, you could also have testing done for Hepatitis B and C.
Let us know if this does not answer your question or if you have any more questions or concerns.
