Hi
It’s possible for HPV to pass when having oral sex. If you are receiving oral sex, the person performing oral sex would need to have a HPV infection in their mouth for this to have any chance of happening.
Currently we have no test available at the clinic level to see if someone has a HPV infection. Most people who have a HPV infection show no symptoms. Some people with a HPV infection will develop visible warts and it is very common for us to see people with genitals warts in the clinic. Even though it is common to have HPV infections in the mouth it’s rare to see visible warts in the mouth.
For additional information have a look at our HPV web page.
