I had almost all the symtoms after 2 weeks of exposer, viz.Rashes on the upper trunk of the body,Swollen Lymphnodes under armpit,Neck,Groin Area and on off diarhoea,Mouth ulcer, ever etc.I did following test..1) Elisa HIB 1& 2 = NEGATIVE POST 84 DAYS 2) WESTERN BLOT= NEGATIVE POST 100 DAYS 3) ABBOTT DUO=NEGATIVE POST 7 MONTHS AND 4) ELISA 1 & 2 = NEGATIVE POST 1 YEAR. But now its almost 2 years and i still have swollen nodes under armpit and mouth ulcer. But by blood counts are normal WBC,Neutrophil,RBC,HB etc..Also i have been diagnosed with Typhillitis which is also known as Neutopenic Colitis.I dnt have TB as my Xrays and blood works are normal. But Typhillitis makes me worried..My question is what are the chances that i may be a late seroconverter..Does every human produce antibodies to HIV after 1 year? kindly reply its humble request..

Hello,

Thanks for your question. Seroconversion is when people create antibodies to HIV virus in their blood. We think that over 99% of people will produce antibodies to HIV within 3 months of being infected, and will then show as positive on an ELISA or a Western blot HIV test. We certainly have never seen anyone taking over a year to produce HIV antibodies. It seems extremely unlikely that HIV is what is causing your symptoms.

I hope that is reassuring,
