Hi there,

We know that HIV lives for less than a minute outside of the body if it is exposed to air. To cause an infection, HIV needs to get directly into an opening in the body such as a puncture wound, the urethra (pee hole), or a woman’s cervix.

You do not need to worry about getting HIV from a blood splash on your skin.
