For HIV testing (point of care), do I have to make an appointment? Is walk-in fine?

Hi

It really depends on what clinic you go to. Some clinics have appointments, some just do walk in and some do both. I would recommend calling the clinic you are interested in and seeing what they offer.

Here are some clinics in the Vancouver area.

The Vancouver Provincial STI Clinic mainly offers appointments.

The Bute Street Clinic just offers a walk in service.

Health Initiative for Men (HIM) has Health Centres in Vancouver, New West and Surrey. They offer appointments and walk in.

You can use our clinic finder to find clinics that offer HIV testing (point of care) in BC. Just select this from the “offering this service” menu when doing your clinic search.
