I am sorry you are going through so much worry about this incident. You do not need to get tested for HIV because of this. HIV does not live outside the human body for more than a few seconds. It does not survive inside the body of a mosquito and will not live for hours in a blood spot on your bed. Even if you have broken skin on your fingers, you do not need to worry about acquiring HIV from this situation.
Many people have anxiety about getting HIV, even when they are not at risk of getting the virus. It can be hard to stop thinking about it. We often find that it’s not that helpful to go looking for more and more information, as it just keeps people focused on worrying. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone you trust, practice deep breathing, or tell your mind to “STOP” when these thoughts come into your head.
