Thanks for your question. If the HIV test was negative at 4 months, you do not have HIV from the unprotected encounter. Testing for all sexually transmitted infections on a regular basis ( 3-6 months) is recommended for men who routinely have sex with sex workers. Sore throats are most commonly caused by cold or flu viruses.
