Home / Answered Questions / Hello, i had unprotected sex with 2 girls. One in November and one in December. The girl in December put cream into her vagina right before we had vaginal sex. She said the cream is for numbing, but i dont know if she is telling the truth or not. Also, i had a wound on my penis. So, my questions are is there any cream that could lead to a longer hiv window period? Is the 6weeks test conclusive or have 99% accuracy? Do i have to do the 12weeks test to have a 99% accurate result?

HI, thanks for your questions. There is no cream that would lead to a longer HIV window period. If you had the HIV RNA or early test at the 6 week mark, then this is considered to cover the window period up to 99% to detect the virus if it was transmitted to you. Its important to consider other STI’s that are transmitted through unprotected sex so although you have tested out HIV, you could consider testing for syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea so you know. If you are still seeing these girls, then having a conversation and doing  STI testing together can be reassuring for all of you.
