My question is, if I had an STI, would these tests have reveled that condition. Can I accept that no contact from the hospital or public health indicates that I do not presently have an STI. Thanks

Hi

Unfortunately, I don’t think you can accept that you were tested for STIs.

STIs can be tested for using blood and urine samples, but only if they are requested. The lab only does the tests that are checked off on a requisition. If your healthcare provider never said anything about doing STI screening, then the tests may not be been done.

You can try to follow up with the hospital you were seen at or you may want go to a clinic or doctor for STI testing. Check out our clinic finder, if you need help finding an STI clinic in BC.
