Hi. Does syphilis, HIV or any other STD live on a toilet brush? I had a stupid accident with a toilet brush at the local hospital the other day, and i might have touched it and maybe some of the water from the brush landed on me. I do not have any actively bleeding cuts, but i am biting my nails very much.

Don’t worry.

HIV, syphilis, and other sexually transmitted infections are not transmitted by toilets, toilet water, or toilet brushes. Even if you have been biting your nails, you do not need to worry about getting an STI this way.
