Hi, I have touched a body fluid (looked like semen) by mistake and in couple of mins I took a cup cake with same hand and licked my fingers when finished and also with the same hand I touched my laptop and phone. Do I get infected with any STDs or any other infection by this situation. I am also using the same laptop and phone which I touched with same hand without cleaning. Is that a problem?

Hi there,

You probably don’t have to worry about getting an STI this way. STIs are transmitted directly from person to person while people are having oral, anal or vaginal sex. I do not know of any cases where someone got an STI from touching a contaminated surface like this, even if they ate afterwards.
