Home / Answered Questions / Hi, I went to a movie theatre and went to restroom. I used the urinal immediately after another person used it, as was standing in a line. The auto urinal water flush did not work, however I used it immediately after that person. When urinating in the urinal, by mistake the Urine from urinal splashed back into my mouth and eyes and also all over my pant/shirt. As I need to go for movie I watched a movie 2.5 hrs and came back home and just changed my pant/shirt and slept that night in my bed. Morning I started worrying that I used the public urinal and that too immediately after a person used it and also it went in to my mouth and eyes, and all over cloth and slept on my bed without taking shower. Do I get infected with Hiv or any other STDs by this situation as it went into my mouth and eyes. Do I need any hiv or STD testing?X Do I also need to change my bed and blanket or can I use the same bed and blanket if it’s no harm?

Hi

No need to be concerned about sexually transmitted infections (STI) or HIV, they do not pass with what you have described. No need to change your bed or blankets.

There is no need to go for testing unless there has been another risk.

Have a look at our “Know your chances” web page, it provides information on your chances of getting or passing an STI depending on how you are having sex.
