Hi there, what STI’s are tested in a generic STI blood/urine testing?

Hi

The standard STI tests that are offered at our Vancouver clinics are a urine test that looks for chlamydia and gonorrhea. The blood tests look for syphilis and HIV.

We also offer other tests depending on the person’s history. For example if the person has performed oral sex on a man we would offer a throat swab. If someone was born in a country were hepatitis B is common we would offer a hepatitis B test. If someone has ever share drug equipment like needles or snorting straws we would offer a hepatitis C test.

With all of the above tests it also depends on what our clients want. We see people who want to do all the tests except for the blood tests, we only recommend tests.

Also have a look at our tests and exams page for additional information.
