Hi there,

Chlamydophila pneumoniae is a bacteria that is a common cause of lung infections (pnueumonias). It is transmitted through droplets in the air (like a cough), and is not a sexually transmitted infection. It can be cured with antibiotics.

It’s not really possible for us to interpret your test results online, because we can’t do a physical exam, or know your medical history. From what you’ve told me, I can’t tell whether you currently have an infection with Chlamydophila pneumoniae, or if you just had an infection some time in the past.

It would be a good idea to go back to the doctor that ordered the test and ask for more information about your diagnosis and treatment.

Please leave a comment below to let us know if that helped to answer your question.
