I had been tested for STD’s, and while chlamydia, gonorrhea, and hep B show negative, the likes of syphilis, HIV, and hep C were sent to BCDC. If one does test positive for the latter three, will they be contacted by a health care provider?

Hi, thanks for your question. If something went wrong with the testing, if you need to retest or if any of the test results for HIV, syphilis and Hepatitis C were positive, then you would be contacted by a nurse from the BCCDC. There is a responsibility to inform you that there is an infection detected, to offer further testing and to arrange for treatment and follow up care. Health Nurse
