Home / Answered Questions / I have been tested for stds through urine and blood testing because i was experiencing pain in the lower abdominal area and slight burning in the penis while urinating! I went a long period before gettjng tested because i live in a small town and knew the nurses and doctors! They gave me the antibiotics for the clap or what have u! My symptoms went away and they called me and told me nothing was detected! A minth or two later and not being sexually active i started feeling slight pain again in the lower abdominal area and my penis has a burning sensation sometimes even when not urinating! Ive noticed now recently that my sperm is quite thick and has a yellow jelly look to it now! I was just wondering if i could have an std and worried that maybe my test was negative because i was drinking a lot of water that day and urinating often! Or is it simply a urinary tract infection or something non std! Am i just over reacting or do you think i still have a sort of std?

Drinking lots of water will not affect the results of STI testing done through urine or blood.

Unfortunately we cannot tell you what is causing your symptoms. It is recommended that you return to where you had your testing and treatment. They know what you have been treated  and treated for. They should then be able to do further testing to try to determine what maybe causing your symptoms.
