Some of the test results came back negative but others had been sent to the BC Centre for Disease Control. Are lab samples routinely sent to BCCDC for testing or is this generally indicative of a positive result?

Hi

The message about tests being sent to BCCDC lab for processing does not indicate a positive result. Most of the HIV, syphilis and Hepatitis C testing for the province is done at the BCCDC Public Health Laboratory, which is why you see that message on MyCareCompass. These results are not sent back to LifeLabs, so they won’t be available in your MyCareCompass account.

The clinic or health care provider who ordered your tests would have a copy of your results which they would be able to share with you. If you use Health Gateway, your lab results would be available there as well.
