if i get birth control from a clinic, will my family doctor know?

Hi and thanks for your question. No, your family doctor will not know.  Health information is confidential and not shared between health care providers without your written consent.  It is your choice if you decide to tell your doctor or not.  However for best health practice, it is useful for your family doctor to know what medications you are taking as e.g. birth control ( the pills, the patch or the ring) can cause side effects and can interact with other medications the doctor may be prescribing.
Hope this helps
