Home / Answered Questions / Thanks a lot for your support and help. I had a relation with a girl for more than three months and ended before two months ago, i met her during that period three times as follows: – Before five months (or more) i had received unprotected oral sex for a very short period (2-3 seconds) and i performed fingering for her vagina and touched her virginal fluids only. – Before three months and half with the same activities – Before two months and half with the same activities I stopped meeting her since two months ago, After 10 days from the last time I did HIV 1 and 2 Ag/Ab test and it was negative, and after 32 days i did tests for other STD’s (VDRL (Syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU, and herpes HSV 1&2) all came negative. so based in your experience and medical sides: 1. am I under a risk of HIV based in my activities? 2. do i need to do any other tests? 3. I have a wife, and we used to have a protected sex since two years ago, if we need to start unprotected sex is its safe? Please advise me.

Hi

From what you have described, you do not have to worry about HIV. It is not passed when you receive oral sex.

Gonorrhea, Herpes, Chlamydia, Syphilis and HPV are easily passed through oral sex. HPV, Herpes and Syphilis can be passed if you are fingering someone but they are not commonly passed this way. You may want to check out our charts called “Know Your Chances ” to find out more about STIs and different ways of having sex.

You could also check out “STIs at a Glance” to find the best time to test for each STI.

In BC, we recommend that you repeat the Syphilis test after 3 months.

If you test after that, and you have no sexual contact with any other partners, it will be safe to stop using condoms with your wife.
