Hi, i had an unprotected sex 9 weeks ago. After 3 days of exposure i had a nausea that i still have it. I and the girl did hiv rapid test at 12 days after exposure. Both test results were negative. And after 2 weeks i had a headache that lasted for few days. I did hiv ab/ag test at 31 days in uk and result was not detected. I did another rapid test at 54 days and test result was negative. At 7 week i started having joint pain which is still on. And again i and the girl did rapid hiv test (tri dot) after 9 weeks (64 days) the results were both negative. The question is having these all negative results why do i have the symptoms. And next question do i need another test after 90 days?
Hi, thanks for writing in with your concerns. It sounds like you have been worrying about HIV. When both you and your partner have tested negative for HIV, this means that the symptoms that you are experiencing are not caused by HIV because you both do not have HIV. Please consider seeing a doctor about your concerns of ongoing joint pain and nausea; so you can be assessed in person and have any other recommended testing or treatment done.
