Hi What is the chances of getting HIV from a blowjob?

Hi,

HIV is typically not passed through oral sex (blow job).

If you are the reciever of oral sex we would say there is no risk. If you are the giver of oral sex we would say very low risk.

It’s technically possible for the giver to get HIV through oral sex if they have cuts on the lips or mouth, or they have an infection in their throat. However, this is not common.

Other STIs, such as Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia can be passed through oral sex. See our Know Your Chances - Oral Sex page for more details.
