A service provided by the BC Centre for Disease Control
I received a oral sex from a sex worker. I have been tested for HIV at 3 months and 20 days. I got the result negative. Shall i still be worried and repeat the test again.

Hi there

You do not need to be retested for HIV for that contact because HIV is not passed to the person receiving oral sex. HIV tests in BC are considered accurate at 3 months and you were tested after that time period.

You might want to check our charts called Know my Chances. They give you information on the chances of getting STIs/HIV with different ways of having sex.
