I'm subfertile for many years. 6 months ago I was treated for Bacterial Vaginosis. I underwent almost all the investigations for subfertlity. Everything was normal. Could BV be the cause for my subfertility? I'm asymtomatic for BV now.

Bacterial vaginosis is very common imbalance of the naturally occuring vaginal bacteria. There have been studies done that correlate the prescence of bacterial vaginosis with infertility but so far not able to say that bacterial vaginosis is a cause of infertility. However it is recommended that if bacterial vaginosis is detected when trying to conceive, that it be treated. Hope this helps and please write in if you have any further questions. Health Nurse
