A service provided by the BC Centre for Disease Control
Not to long ago some guy I was with was positive for Chlamydia but then was given treatment and about a week later he went down on me . Is there any chance I could have gotten it ?

When people are treated for Chlamydia we ask them to avoid any sexual contact for one week. If his treatment was a week earlier, then you should be OK.  If his Chlamydia was not in his throat, then that would also lower your chances of getting it from your partner.

It may be a good idea to go for routine testing just to be sure that you did not get Chlamydia or any other STI. Check out our Clinic Finder if you need help finding a clinic in BC.
