The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) will begin offering Express Testing at the STI clinic in Vancouver, on Tuesday, September 28th. Express Testing is a convenient and fast way to get routine STI/HIV tests, without being assessed by a nurse or physician.
The new STI Express Testing appointments are part of an effort to resume routine testing services that were not readily available during the pandemic.
STI Express Testing will be available for chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV, syphilis and Hepatitis C and will be offered only to individuals who are asymptomatic and not a contact to a diagnosed STI.
When clients arrive at the clinic, they will complete a short assessment form to determine which tests should be offered. They will be seen by a phlebotomist for blood collection and instruction on self-collection of urine and/or swabs.
At this time, Express Testing is available by appointment only, Tuesday to Saturday. Clients can book by calling the clinic at 604-707-5600.
