Lentocilin S (long-acting benzathine benzylpenicillin) is available in BC through temporary exception by Health Canada for the treatment of syphilis during the global Bicillin L-A® shortage. Lentocilin S is given by intramuscular injection in two divided doses into each hip/buttock muscle at the same visit.

Pristinamycin (Pyostacine®) is an antibiotic taken by mouth for the treatment of a sexually transmitted infection (STI) when other treatments can not be used. Pristinamycin is only available by special permission through Health Canada which must be requested by your healthcare provider.
